Jess Hill: "See What You Made Me Do" - Part One
***TRIGGER WARNING - this episode talks about domestic abuse and violence***
Jess Hill is an award winning investigative journalist who has spent the last 4 years researching domestic abuse in all its forms and then writing about it in her recently released book "See What You Made Me Do" Where she poses the question "why does he do it?" and puts the focus squarely on the behaviour of the perpetrator for a change.
Kel talks to Jess about the role of patriarchy and generational trauma in domestic abuse. As well as how decisions by governments have greatly hindered a victim's ability to seek help or protection through the legal system for themselves or their children. Asking the same questions as many right now - Is it finally time for a royal commission into the family law courts?
