Heart of Writing: Nikki Gemmell's Creative Journey - Dissolve

In the final episode for the year Pam talks to best-selling international author Nikki Gemmell about her memoir Dissolve: The Journey of a Creative Woman Roaring to Life in a Man's World.

Nikki is the best-selling author of thirteen novels and four works of non-fiction. She pens a weekly column for The Australian newspaper and also S writes novels for children

Four of Nikki’s books, ShiverCleaveThe Bride Stripped Bare and The Book of Rapture, made the longlist of “Favourite Australian Novels” as chosen by readers of the Australian Book Review.

Nikki’s debut novel Shiver was one of the books that first made Pam want to become a writer. Her portrayal of place – in both the landscape of Antarctica and the Australian desert was eye-opening, and the language was both stark and complex.

Dissolve documents the struggle between love and creativity that initially broke Nikki's heart but resulted in the writing of Shiver and the blossoming of her career.

Grab a cuppa and join Pam and Nikki on The Convo Couch for the final conversation of 2021.
